Art Program

At All Day Long, creativity is deeply embedded within our everyday programs, supporting children to develop their creative skills through a process-over-outcome approach.

Throughout the day, children are encouraged to explore art, craft and creative expression using a wide range of materials and resources. We place a strong focus on sustainability, encouraging children to think creatively about how everyday and natural materials can be reused, repurposed and transformed into something new.

Our educators intentionally weave creative experiences into the curriculum, allowing children to experiment, explore and express their ideas through art, craft, music, movement and imaginative play. Through these experiences, children are encouraged to embrace the process of creating, develop confidence in their ideas and discover the many possibilities within the world around them.

AUSLAN Classes

Across our rooms, Sign & Shine AUSLAN incursions visit our service weekly, providing children with meaningful opportunities to learn and engage with AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language) as part of their everyday learning.

Introducing AUSLAN in the early years supports children to develop a broader range of communication skills, giving them the opportunity to express their needs, ideas, emotions and interests through both verbal and non-verbal communication. Sign language can be particularly valuable for young children as they develop their spoken language, providing an additional way to communicate while their vocabulary and confidence continue to grow.

Our AUSLAN program also promotes inclusion, connection and respect for diverse ways of communicating. Children are encouraged to recognise that communication can look different for everyone, helping to build empathy, understanding and a sense of belonging from an early age.

Importantly, AUSLAN is not limited to the weekly incursion. Our educators actively participate alongside the children, developing their own skills and incorporating signs into the everyday program. This allows AUSLAN to become a familiar and meaningful part of the children's routines, relationships and learning experiences, while continuing to support their language, social and emotional development.

By embedding AUSLAN throughout our programs, we are creating an environment where every child has multiple ways to communicate, participate and be heard.

Lending Library

Our Lending Library supports all children’s emerging and developing literacy skills.

Through this initiative children will develop rich literacy skills and a love for books and reading, while also learning important social concepts of taking care of items and returning something that is borrowed. Families will also have the precious gift of time together with their children, through reading stories together.

Service Pets

We believe that having pets is more than just fun filled interactions, that pets provide opportunities for learning, supporting development whist bringing joy to each child.

The benefits of having pets within All Day Long can be seen through observations, interactions and learning how to care for an animal, which are all held as a valuable part of a child’s education and care experiences. Animals in our environment support children in building empathy, improving communication and reducing anxiety.
